Drawing Foundations for Beginners and Returning Artists
Starting from scratch? Coming back after a decade away? Our beginner drawing courses build confidence and real technical skills from the very first session — no experience necessary.
From First Lines to Confident Sketches
Our beginner drawing course runs over six structured weeks, guiding you through line control, proportion, light and shadow, texture rendering, and compositional thinking. Sessions are designed for adults returning to art, university students building visual skills, and complete newcomers who've always wanted to draw but never had the guidance to begin. Each class builds on the last, so even if you've never held a pencil with intention, you'll end the course with a sketchbook full of work you're genuinely proud of.
- Line weight & mark-making
- Proportion and measuring
- Shading and tonal values
- Texture rendering techniques
- Pencil and ink technique
- Sketchbook habits
For Adults Returning to Art
Years away from art don't erase your natural instinct for it — they just need reawakening. Our classes provide a low-pressure, supportive setting where returning artists rebuild confidence at their own pace. Small group sizes mean personal attention on every session, and the curriculum is flexible enough to address individual gaps in technique.
Portfolio Preparation & Visual Skill Building
University applicants, design students, and artists preparing portfolio work benefit from structured pencil and ink technique classes that set the groundwork for any discipline. We focus on observation, accuracy, and expressive line quality — the fundamentals that underpin every great portfolio.
Botanical Illustration Workshops
Draw plants the way botanical illustrators have for centuries — with precision, patience, and genuine wonder. Our botanical illustration workshops bring together amateur artists, garden lovers, florists, urban gardeners, and nature enthusiasts for hands-on sessions guided by a live plant specimen.
You'll learn observational drawing from life — studying how leaves attach to stems, how petals overlap, how light defines petal texture. We cover accurate proportion, structural analysis, and the translation of real flora into beautiful, detailed artwork using pencil, fine-line ink, watercolour, or mixed media. Whether you're a curious beginner or an improver wanting to refine your plant drawing technique, these workshops are designed to move you forward.

Life Drawing Sessions for Figure Drawing Practice
Weekly life drawing sessions in a welcoming studio environment — for portfolio development, creative habit-building, or simply the pleasure of sustained figure drawing practice.
A Regular Practice That Builds Real Skill
Life drawing is one of the most effective ways to develop as an artist. Drawing from a live figure model teaches you to observe with your full attention — to see proportion, gesture, and anatomy not as memorised facts but as living relationships on the page. Our weekly sessions run for two hours and mix short gesture poses with longer observational studies, giving you variety across the session.
The atmosphere is relaxed and community-focused. Participants range from artists preparing fine art portfolios and design school applications to intermediate artists maintaining a regular creative habit and professionals who simply want a few hours of focused, rewarding mark-making each week.
Join a SessionGesture & Proportion
Fast poses develop instinctive mark-making and fluency. Longer poses build accuracy in anatomy and confident spatial awareness on the page.
Portfolio Development
Attending regularly builds a portfolio of life drawing work that demonstrates range, consistency, and observational skill to admissions panels and clients.
Community Studio
Join a friendly, mixed-ability group of Dublin artists. No prior experience required for drop-in sessions — simply arrive, draw, and leave feeling creatively satisfied.
